Vases on this page?
All the vases detailed on this page have been created using a glass technique called Fusing. There is a selection of nine different styles which come in three sizes: 10cm x 10cm x 25cm, 7cm x 7cm x 28.5cm, and 15cm x 15cm x 7.5cm.
What is Fusing?
Glass Fusing is the process by which two or more pieces of coloured glasses are heated up at a high temperature in a special kiln and 'melted' together to produce decorative glass results.
In this case, glass fusing has been carried out to produce the wonderful glass colours on the vases on this page.
One of our favourite creations is the Mosaic vase with its array of colours and the Bamboo vase with its green and black glass fused to look like bamboo.
Some History for you.
Fused glass is an ancient art form with examples found dating back to around 2000BC, however in the 20th century the technique became popular in America which subsequently became extremely popular in mainland Europe a few years later.
Today, fusing is a form of Art that is becoming more popular in the United Kingdom as each day goes by.
